Mandy's Thank You Letter For Couch Donation

The residents at the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome recently received a donation of a new couch. The donors are the parents of Shannon Bundy, who currently is the Assistant Site Supervisor at the home and will be the new Site Supervisor there when the current Site Supervisor, Chantelle Tweten, takes over as the Site Supervisor at Imagine!’s brand new Next Step Group Home in Broomfield.

SmartHome resident Mandy wrote the following lovely thank you note to Shannon’s parents:

Dear Judy @ Brian,

Thank you very much for donating the really nice furniture to us. That was exstremely generous and thoughtful of the two of you. We always sit on it when we are watching television because it is very comfortable and we can put our feet up, lean back and relax. The staff are happy because they can sleep on a comfortable couch they can turn into a bed if they wish (NOTE: this is in regards to overnight staff who are allowed to sleep).  it goes well with the rest of the furniture.

we are all very excited to have Shannon as our new supvisor. We know how important it is to Shannon to be able to take over her new position. We know Shannon has our best interest in mind. Shannon is a great person. Thank you for everything you do and thank you for the Tshirts also.

Cari's First Time Skiing

This blog post came to us in an email from Kristin Conboy, who works with Cari. Kristin and Cari recently went on Cari's first ski trip.

Hi, Thought I would share Cari's awesome ski trip with you. We went up Wed. Feb. 26th to Winter Park. It was Cari's 1st time going and we were both a little nervous but excited for the adventure.

Cari really loved her teachers Brie and Susan. They did a great job of getting to know Cari and made her feel very comfortable. Brie was even ASL fluent! Cari said the lift was a little scary but she loved the speed of coming down the hill. She had a big smile on for most of the day! Cari is excited to try it out again next year!

Hope you like the pics!

Jessica Keeps Busy At Work And Play

This blog post came to us in a phone call from Jessica. She wanted to share what she did the weekend of Valentine’s Day.

On Friday, Valentine’s Day, I went to a dance at the East Boulder Rec. Center. There were more than 100 people there, it was packed. I went with a group from Out & About, their Friday Night Out group. There was the dance, lemonade, cookies, and balloons. I took it easy on the snacks because I have been trying to drink lots of water and not much soda to be healthier.

On Saturday I played Bingo at the Coal Creek (shopping plaza in Lafayette). They had cupcakes for snacks.

On Sunday I went to church.

I’m enjoying working at Celestial Seasonings where we bottle their Kombucha. I work there on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and when they need my help, I work there on Mondays and Thursdays. On Friday I’m usually at Amcon, but have worked at Celestial Seasonings on Fridays too.
