November 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm
Making ballet accessible to all

 TRAINING DAY AND TIME:
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12, from 9 a.m. to noon with Refreshments
Training Location: CU's Macky Auditorium

PERFORMANCE is Wednesday, November 23, 2 p.m.

On performance day, plan on being at CU Macky Auditorium from 12:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Macky is located at University of Colorado Boulder
1595 Pleasant Avenue
Boulder, CO 80309-0285

We need 8 experienced assistants who have experience working with people living with different abilities, and 19 assistants who are eager to help and willing to come to a one-day training on November 12 (see above).

Everyone will have sensitivity training provided by Imagine! Behavioral Services and Dayspring, and will be outfitted in red Boulder Ballet aprons so they are easily identifiable on concert day. There will be professionals in the sensory friendly room, the auditorium, the lobby, and the gallery. Assistants will be positioned in these areas as well to help guide attendees to the bathrooms, the sensory friendly room, and to our professionals if further assistance is needed.

This sensory-friendly production of the Nutcracker is designed in association with Brainsong: Arts for All, Imagine! Dayspring and Behavioral Health Services, Empowerment Center of East County, the Association for Community Living and The Autism Society of Colorado to present music and dance in a welcoming setting.
