Mandy Harvesting Food, Bowling, & Job Club Class
This blog post was sent via audio email by Mandy who is a resident at the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hi, it’s Mandy. I wanted to tell you what I did yesterday and today at CORE. Yesterday was August 22nd. I had gardening class in the morning. We got to pick some of the tomatoes and some of the cantaloupe, and peppers that we’ve been growing and we got to taste them.
That was in the morning and in the afternoon I went to the bowling alley and I bowled a 137. And today, August 23rd, I had Creative Writing. We just played some writing games, and that was about it. And then today we had Job Club class, and we talked about getting jobs and what we needed to wear and how we needed to act and all kinds of job related things like that. I will talk to you soon. Bye.

This blog entry was sent via audio email by John, who is a resident of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hey Gary, I hope that you’ll hear this from me. I went to dodge ball today for EXPAND, and it was food and friendly people, and I had a great time. I just want to ask you, can you come over, and go to the living room and show us what you did with your blog? I hope to see you sometime, bye.
Note: John is asking for help in viewing the Imagine! Voices blog so he and his housemates can check on their posts and other posts. Hopefully in the next few days John will be able to make a blog post about what he learned from looking at the blog and what he thinks of it.

Broncos Training Camp Tour Coming Up
This blog entry was sent via audio email by Donna, who is a resident at the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hey, I’m going to go to the Broncos training camp and get a tour of where my counselor works or where his office is, and where the owner’s offices are. We are very excited about that. I am looking forward to it and I know everyone else is, but I can’t speak for everyone else, so that’s it for me. Oh, by the way, In Clover is where I work three days a week now, and I am very happy about that. I hope that things work out where I can stay there and do as much as I can. I’ll see you soon, bye bye.

CORE/Labor Source Consumers Volunteer at EFAA
On Thursdays, a crew of individuals receiving services in Imagine!’s CORE/Labor Source department volunteers for two hours at the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) in Boulder. In these pictures, the crew was putting donated carrots in large bags into smaller bags, and also was measuring food for cats and dogs and putting it into small bags.

Mandy In The International Fringe Festival
This blog post was sent via audio email by Mandy who is a resident at the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hi. Today is August 23rd and I had a great day at CORE. I had writing class, and last Saturday we had a function at Naropa, and we just played games and had a bunch of fun today. Because of last weekend we’ve been reading and writing for the past month to get ready for this Naropa thing that we had last week.
This afternoon I had Job Club class and it was my first time and it was really fun. So, they just kind of acclimated me to the class. I will talk to you soon, bye.
Note: The Naropa event Mandy is referring to was the International Fringe Festival that she and other people in CORE/Labor Source classes participated in. Mandy is a talented writer and she read some of her original work to the approximately 50 people in the audience.

I am excited to meet Peyton Manning. We get to see where one of our counselors Brent works at the stadium.

I Have A Couple Good Jokes For You
This post was submitted via an audio email today by John, who is a resident of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hi,
This is John. I’m doing the audio email game. I know the others did that earlier and I’m doing it because I just want to say hi and hope things are going good for you and I hope that you will write me back. I have a couple good jokes.
“When is a car not a car?” Well, the answer is “When it turns into the driveway.”
The other is “Where did the fish put its money?” The answer is “In the river bank.”
I just want to say hello, bye bye.

I Like My Jobs
This post was submitted via an audio email today by Rebecca, who is a resident of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hi, This is Rebecca. I’ve got three new jobs working at Rock Bottom Restaurant, the Chop House, and Free Wave. At Rock Bottom and the Chop House I roll silverware into napkins and at Free Wave I make packages with different kinds of screws and I have to count them to get that right. It is not hard and I like earning money.

The Olympics, My Jobs, And A Joke
This post was submitted by John, who is a resident of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder, Colorado.
Hi,
Today is Wednesday, August 8th, 2012. I am sitting in the living room of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome in Boulder. This is where I live. My housemate Rebecca and I are watching the Olympics on our big screen TV, cheering for all the athletes from the USA. Right now I am relaxing, but I have been busy most of the time lately and I’ll tell you some of the things I’ve been doing.
On Mondays, I work at In Clover, putting pet supplements into bags. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, I work at the Hungry Toad, and on Wednesday afternoons I work at Timberline. At both the Hungry Toad and Timberline I am doing janitorial work. I vacuum, wipe tables and counters, and I also like to sweep and mop. Last Thursday I volunteered at Food Share, and tomorrow I will be going swimming and bowling. I like to get up before 7:00 in the morning, it gets me going.
Watching the Olympics reminds me of some of the events I did when I was in the Special Olympics. I did track and field (the 50 and 100 meter runs), the standing long jump, basketball, and volleyball. I haven’t done the Special Olympics in a while, but I assume I want to do so in the future.
I played softball yesterday at Mapleton Field, and a long time ago I used to play soccer. I also like to play basketball.
Before I go, I have a joke for you. “How do you stop a charging elephant?” “You take away its credit card.”
